Operation Founder Incident Hike Photo’s
Posted on 26 February 2017
The 8th Tonbridge Scout section entered 4 teams into this annual incident hike….
They completed around 8-10miles of navigation around the Hadlow countryside, plotting routes from grid references, using compass bearings and local landmarks to find their way to the various incident bases. All the teams performed brilliantly. The 8th Tonbridge were running an incident base situated at the Rose Revived Pub and we saw three of our teams pass through our base during the day. Below are some of the photographs of those teams that we saw through the day (sorry girls no photo’s).
This base would not have happened if it was not for the excellent Scout section leadership team and parents that supported the Scouts both before and during the day. Special thanks to those parents that assisted on the base, made cake or made the team the fabulous cowboy stew that kept us warm & fuelled throughout the day. As for the results…. Well three of our teams were in the top 10. Team “Ginger Scott” were amazing finishing 3rd, our assisted team “Shark FINN Soup” were the highest placed assisted team finishing 4th overall. But no matter where you all came, you are all winners, as you were out there being Scouts, doing what Scouts do. Well Done 8th Tonbridge.
