Hildenborough Road Races 2017
Posted on 1 May 2017
Our Cubs & Scouts assisted in this village community event….
Again the Cubs and Scouts assisted the Race Director “Sam” and his team from the Hildenborough Village Sports Association to run the annual village road and fun races. These involve a number of children races on our recreational ground coupled with some serious road races around the country lanes of Hildenborough. Our Cubs and Scouts along with the leadership team assisted with the finish line, handing out all the finishers medals and the water station at the end. All of the Cubs & Scouts did a great job. Nearly all of the Cubs and Scouts also participated in the races in between giving out medals, they all did brilliantly…. Well Done Cubs & Scouts.
The Cubs Leadership team managed to get one up on the Scouts team by having their Akela complete in the 5 mile race, whilst the Scout leadership team did not enter anyone…. Next Year Scout Leaders!!!
The Race organisers were also kind enough to donate sports T-Shirts to our Scouts for their help over the last few years, Thank You very much Pat, Sam and the race committee.
Our thanks also goes to one of our senior Scouts “Sarah” who as part of her Duke of Edinburgh award is studying Photography, we thank her for these super photographs of the days events, looks like you have a career in photography ahead of you… and another badge!!!
Our final thanks goes to Sam, his team and Dame Kelly Holmes who inspire our village to get together and participate in an active lifestyle whilst having fun. Thank you guys especially when it comes to encouraging our youth to keep fit in both body and mind.
Well done Team Cubs & Team Scouts a great day out in the community doing what you do best.
